Climbing 101: Intro to Rock Climbing

$150 | Carderock, MD or Great Falls, VA | No experience necessary

Get on the rock! Whether it’s your first time climbing or your first time outside, anyone can try climbing outdoors on real rock with the expert guidance of our certified, professional guides.

Our intro classes include all the gear you need, instruction from the ground up, and the experienced teaching and local knowledge to create a successful experience for every student.

This class is also available in Women’s Only sessions

Final 2024 Dates

  • You’ll learn:

    • Climbing gear selection and use

    • Basic knots

    • Belay technique

    • Rock-reading skills and climbing movement

    • Rappelling

    • Crag etiquette and stewardship

  • What’s included:

    • Any personal gear you need (harness, helmet, shoes, etc.)

    • All class gear

    • Group first aid kit
